Heywoods has found budding estate agents of the future after children from a local primary school spent the morning in our Newcastle office learning all about houses.

A class of five- and six-year-old children from Friarswood Primary wanted to know all about houses as part of a project they're working on at school and came prepared with oodles of questions for our team.

The children saw pictures of lots of houses in Newcastle and the surrounding areas to get a good idea about all the different types of properties in the area where they live.

They also played games where they had to identify all the different characteristics of houses such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, garages, gardens, etc.

We also challenged the children to draw pictures of either a bungalow or terraced house and the best one was actually put in the window for all passers-by to see.

The visit of the pupils even attracted the attention of our local newspaper, The Sentinel, which sent a photographer to take pictures and an article appeared in it the following day.

Our marketing manager Amy Wilkes said it was a brilliant morning and the children seemed to get a lot out of the visit.

“Everyone at our office thoroughly enjoyed the visit of the children from Friarswood Primary who were all eager to learn about houses,” she said.

“I think we may have unearthed a few estate agent stars of the future.”
