Heywoods predicts surge after HIPs scrapped

Newcastle under Lyme's leading estate agents is expecting a surge of homeowners to put their houses up for sale in the wake of the Government's announcement that Home Information Pack (HIPs) have been scrapped.

Heywoods is expecting the boom of potential new vendors after the new Government moved quickly to abolish HIPs and Housing Minister Grant Shapps declared that they were history.

Mr Shapps said that new coalition was determined to get straight down to work and cut pointless red tape which was strangling the housing market.

It's a view shared by many estate agents who felt that homeowners were reluctant to put their houses on the market because they did not want to pay the upfront costs of putting their homes on the market.

Now this obstacle has been removed Heywoods expects the housing market to free up with more people in Newcastle calling them and asking to put their houses up for sale.

And as more people put up For Sale boards, the choice for potential buyers increases. This is something Heywoods believes can only be a good thing to stimulate the housing market.
