Our Heartfelt Commitment: A Year in Community and Charity

Here at Heywoods, community and charity aren't just words; they're the foundation of who we are. As a small team from a local estate agency serving our local area, we don't just work here; we live here, our children go to school here, and we shop and socialise here. Our commitment to our local community isn't a marketing strategy; it's a deeply rooted passion that extends beyond the boundaries of our business.

Our Commitment:

Heywoods' commitment to community and charity is not just a professional endeavour; it's a personal one. Even if Heywoods didn't exist, our team would still be actively involved in raising funds for charitable causes. It's a sentiment that runs deep within each member, a shared dedication to making a positive impact where it's needed the most.

Alistair, Heywoods’ owner and our driving force, is particularly passionate about giving back and is always cooking up his next crazy idea for a fundraiser. His dedication goes beyond the walls of our offices; it's a testament to the personal investment our team has in the wellbeing of our community.

Being a local business isn't just about transactions; it's about being an integral part of the fabric of our community. Our team doesn't just see the community as clients; we see them as neighbours, friends, and fellow contributors to the life of our town.

Our pledge goes beyond financial support; it's about actively seeking ways to enhance the lives of those around us. It's about recognising that, as locals, the wellbeing of our community is our wellbeing. We are always on the lookout for small ways to make a big difference, understanding that sometimes even the smallest gesture can have a profound impact.

The Alice Charity: Turning Completions into Cash

In July, our commitment took the form of a heartfelt campaign. For every property sale completed, Heywoods pledged to donate £25 to The Alice Charity, supporting disadvantaged families in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Alistair, always at the forefront, spearheaded this initiative, turning your support and trust in Heywoods into a tangible impact.

Macmillan Cancer Care: Tackling Hills for a Cause

Cancer is a battle that touches us all. In July, Alistair led a courageous team on the Macmillan Peak District Mighty Hike - a marathon-length trek across challenging terrain. Their dedication raised over £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care, a cause that holds significance for everyone in our community.

Lottie’s Potters Arf Marathon: Running for a Reason

June witnessed our Letting’s Manager, Lottie, go the extra mile – literally. Running the 'Potters Arf' half marathon, Lottie raised over £800 for Katharine House Hospice. Her run wasn't just about miles; it was a personal journey of gratitude for the care provided to her family and friends, showcasing the individual commitment that defines Heywoods.

Our Gratitude and Reflections:

To each person who donated, supported, or stood by us this year – thank you. Your trust in Heywoods has translated into positive impacts on our local community. We're grateful beyond words for the collective effort that allows us to turn your support into tangible change, and we’re humbled to have raised almost £8,000 in the past 12 months for local good causes.

Looking Forward to 2024:

As we reflect on the year's charitable exploits, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and challenges that 2024 will bring. Our commitment to making a small difference in the community remains unwavering, and we're excited about the adventures that lie ahead.
